Christ Church, Latchingdon . . .

THE CHURCH

Christ Church celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2006, culminating in a special Service of Thanksgiving on 18th November.

Latchingdon churchyard is situated one mile from the church, on a ridge overlooking the village and affording beautiful views. It is much loved and carefully preserved, and adjoins the redundant St. Michael’s Church, now a private home. St. Peter’s, Snoreham, is now also incorporated in Latchingdon parish.

Christ Church itself has a relatively new Garden of Remembrance for the interment of ashes. Each year, on the weekend of Remembrance Sunday, an exhibition relating to Remembrance is held in the church, and attracts visitors from some distance.

The church is linked with Latchingdon Primary School, of which the Rector is a Governor. The church has a Sunday School meeting twice monthly, and also a branch of the Mothers’ Union.
