Collect:

Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life:

that we may seek those things which are above,
where he reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Prayers during this week:

Today is Vocations Sunday. We give thanks to God that he calls us all to varieties of forms of service in his Church and in the world and pray for openness to his Holy Spirit, that each of us may discern the call of God upon our lives. “Christ, you call us to be your people in the world. We will follow your call to be your people: our hands will do your work, our feet will walk your way. Christ, you call us. Help us to respond to your call”;

for those undertaking exams or interviews soon;

for those standing for churchwarden or PCC posts;

 those who are unwell including Jean B, Jean E; Kay; Bill, Gail; David; Vera; Jacqui; Freda; Richard; and John & Rusti, also those known to us personally; and the family and friends of those who have recently died.
